MIKE CHICK: THE HIGH LIFE LET ME DOWN AGAIN LAST NIGHT

Mike Chick you may recognize as the fuzzy haired half of Asbury Park duo Yawn Mower. For this collection of 2 singles with Instrumental edits, radio edit and soon to be added acoustic version of Pine Lake Park this is the third in a recent series of singles from Chick following last years Beach Wolff and Call Up The Doctor. Mr. Chick’s attorney contacted us and asked that we present the facts and only the facts with as little interjection as possible so we present the Spotify stream, a photo and just the facts:

Everyone is talking about “The High Life Let Me Down Again Last Night”, the new maxi-single from Mike Chick, out now via Mint 400 Records.

Recorded throughout the second half of 2020 at Waving Cat with Rudy Meier. Rudy also sings backups on “Pine Lake Park”, the b-side of the single.

Both songs feature Sam Bey on drums. Drums were recorded at New Future with Paul Richie in February 2020.

“High Life” features Nick Bock on bass guitar. Mike plays bass on “Pine Lake Park”. Both songs feature tambourine.

Pat Noon of Eightsixteen Recording mixed and mastered the songs.

Influences for this release include Sloan, Guided by Voices and late-era Sonic Youth.

These songs, along with a clean edit of “High Life”, acoustic version of “PLP” and instrumentals of both tracks, will be streaming everywhere as of 3/26/21.

No physical release is scheduled at this time.

Alex Flannery created the cover artwork.

Text by Modern Animals.

Thank you to everyone involved in this project. Hope you enjoy the songs.
