Everything that is great about ol’timey country from the 50’s is present in the new Bug Martin track “Three Thousand Miles”. If you weren’t aware this was a modern recording you could slip it into any classic country music fans collection and nobody would be any the wiser. From the banjo to the classic melody and tone of the vocals & backing vocals this track is just a phenomenal recording. The biggest issue is the song ends too soon and leaves you wanting a full album right this second. An odd release for NJ’s Pyrrhic Victory Recordings more known for classic punk rock but Bug Martin is quite a find no matter the label. If you love 50’s Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams, Carl Perkins, this is going to be your new modern favorite. Do yourself a favor and go to any 50’s playlist of the best country songs and tell me this song couldn’t easily sneak on there without a second glance.
