The Vanishing Lines release brooding, fuzzed out debut via Shore Dive Records

The debut album from The Vanishing Lines, "No Replacement Found" comes to us, described as a brooding droning album, hailing from Shropshire England. It's songs aiming to be feelings, more than just melodic jams. I found it to be both a warm, somber, relaxing vibe, like a shot of rum, before your veins run cold, and descending into the maddening depths of an Eraserhead like nightmare, even adding in toddler voices for (mostly) creepy effect. Out Jesus and Mary Chaining the Jesus and Mary Chain, via distortion, and spacey droning guitars, while challenging the notion that lyrics should be sung at different pitches and intervals. Interesting! Track 4, Comber Storker would fit right into a seedy bar, chain link fences, bottles flying through the air, with the devil himself hiding away from the world in a dark corner at the end of the bar. Queue extended scenes of the devil looking awesome. Overall, if you LOVED distortion rock at all, ever, you will want to check this out. Also, if you like to imagine yourself in a seedy dive, drinking alone in that corner, waiting on your minions. And let's not forget the seedy dive owner, who needs really seedy music to tie the place together... ...go listen, now.
