Tequila Sirens bring us the pop song we needed right now

Ahhhh. Two notes, a fuzz bass and some keys.. what else could you possibly ask for after all the dreamy verbed out “fill in the blank” gaze that dominates these days? Let’s hear a catchy melody for a change! A stop, a build up.. what is this? A pop song? I thought those were extinct, like the fuckin dinosaurs. A killer voice that is just gruff enough to have the necessary “grit” but not too pretty to lose me. Where have you been, Tequila Sirens? I have needed you so, and you left me astray. Thank God you are finally home. Home with the misery of the music addict who needs you so. Please don’t leave again, I don’t know if I can take it. I don’t believe in my past love either, and I clearly have nothing left to prove, certainly not as a music journalist. My blood is in between the news/blues, I get it. It’s a fucking disaster. We’re all being killed slowly. It ain’t just you, pal. Just bring me with you so I can die a slow death with that catchy melody stuck in my head. I don’t gaf anymore… Somerville Mass.? I played a show there once, there wasn’t much to remember. I wonder where the melody was then. I wonder how it lost me. I’m home now.
