I’m familiar with Skinny Lister as in I’ve heard the name, but I don’t think I’ve ever sat down and listened. This track seems to be a love letter to a child if you check out the video and it’s nice. It’s happy, it’s cheery, so with that being said you have to be in the mood for it. It has an element of traditional Irish folk. It’s the kind of song that every parent who is a musician tries to write without sounding like a whiny sap and I think that gets accomplished here. The song is vague enough that it works on multiple levels. When the next Skinny Lister song popped up on youtube I saw that this is quite a change from their usual style. I don’t mind this, I have kids and I can appreciate the well said sentiment.
