Midnight 76 releases mysteriously powerful, dark and wonderfully constructed songs on debut record!

I was shocked with how good this was. I’ve never been a big club scenester or a big fan of techno, but Midnight 76 makes me crave strobe lights and the smell of fog machines. While listening at first, I couldn’t help but think how much heavier “Other Animals” would be if it had the acoustic sounds of real drums and guitars, but I take it back, because it just may have them at times and it doesn’t really matter. They needn’t change a thing. It’s not just techno. It’s all over the place and has something for everyone. Think more 80’s style Killing Joke, with eerie Led Zeppelin references, filled with great changes, awesome beats, crazy effects and slick, synth technology. It really sounds like a throw back at times and some of the deeper cuts like “Waxx (Wane)” "The Whole Eye Doug” and “28” made me feel as though I was watching an episode of S.W.A.T. while listening to an unreleased Wings album. Mysteriously powerful, dark and wonderfully constructed songs with a 70’s feel in it’s melodies. Also, the artwork totally matches the feel of the record.

Best thing I’ve heard in awhile!
