INTERVIEW WITH LIVING LEGEND GENE BAKER

A few years back out of nowhere you might have gotten added to a mysterious rockers Facebook page. Gene Baker immediately touted his connections to Universal Records and Thunder Bay Ontario, his home turf. Gene Baker was launching the second half of his already impressive career as host of Be Happy For Once Production’s “Band Nightmares”, where Mr. Baker would target millennial bands and fix their sound. If you want to see more of that you can visit Mr. Baker’s YouTube page. But in the meantime I was able to catch up with Gene for this short exchange below:

Gene: Anyways where was I..

Notably you paid a man to write Soy Bomb on his chest and interrupt Bob Dylan during his 1998 Grammy speech, why and what did Bob ever do to you?

Gene: I’ll tell ya, I completely deny those allegations. Nothing of the sort ever happened. You’re full of bologna and I don’t like this.

You've gotten in numerous celebrity feuds with everyone from Meryl Streep to Michael Jackson. What was the most notable fight and how was it resolved? Did anyone end up dead?

Gene: They didn’t end up dead. Oh boy…I uh feel sleepy. I’ll pass on that one.

You are the savior of the millennial generation with your quirky yet effective advice pieces portrayed in Band Nightmares. Do you see hope in the millennial generations music now that you've personally involved yourself in fixing it?

Gene: Uh, I’ll tell ya, I see hope in all of my footsteps while I’m walking up the mountain baby.

You recently had a large court case settled against aBIRD a New Jersey recording artist. The band claims severe abuse and hasn't been heard from in some months. What do you say to the accusations of foul play involving yourself?

Gene: Uh, I say I did nothing wrong. I’m a good guy. I’m a stand up guy. I have a family. Umm, yeah.

Foxanne claims you are the worst thing to ever happen to her musical career, how do you respond to that?

Gene: Oh I think, ya know true or false you are full of excuses, answer is true.

You once pushed my friend Alice at an indie event and didn't apologize, say sorry or excuse me, she and her husband now hate your guts. What do you have to say about this?

Gene: Well if that is true I do apologize, I don’t recall pushing anyone. But perhaps I did and if I did let’s talk about it over lunch… online.

You've worked with Paperboy Prince and he is now considering a Presidential run, do you think he'll ask you to be his VP?

Gene: Uh, absolutely not, what would I give him back.

How do you fix the bands that you fix? More specifically once they're fixed what can we expect from them?

Gene: I fix them with magic of the body of chi and the aura of the sound of tomorrow. I am fixed to the stirrups of a brighter day.

Hope Diamond thinks music and astronomy go together but you had other views on this?

Gene: I’ll tell you I know, Pisces is the way out.

We know what Donald Trump's America looks like, we're pretty sure we know what Biden's America can look like, but what does Gene Baker's America look like?

Gene: My America looks like Canada because that’s where I’m from.

Does Gene Baker get political? Do you want to weigh in on COVID, cops, Karens, etc.?

Gene: Uh, absolutely not. I have  no interest in going to uh that territory, uh because I get paid to do the uh music business.

What's next for Gene Baker? Movies, books, TV?

Gene: I’ll tell ya what’s next for Gene Baker is the sweeping modification of the integral structures of the personal deliverance of the autonomous artistic aura and figure. Uh I’m going to build into cosmotic undertones to unearth a new aura upon which I will build the groundwork for a new sound. Uh, this ones not cutting it.
