CHRISTINA WARD “NIGHTMARE” VIDEO PREMIERE

This week Christina Ward brings you a track from her new EP “Rent”, her self directed video for the track “Nightmare”. We got to ask Christina a few questions about the video as well:

What is the overall theme and lyrics for "Nightmare" all about?

I wrote "Nightmare" after watching a Princess Diana documentary on Netflix. I really empathized with how much of an outsider she must have felt like within the royal family. The documentary really outlined the idea of her being a bit of a problem for them. She didn't readily conform to their longstanding traditions and I really admire her for that.

How does this relate to the rest of the "Rent" EP?

I think every song I write probably has to do with feeling like an outsider in some fashion.

What is the video inspired by?

All of the horror and thriller movies that we watched during this social distancing time period.

It looks self-produced, what was the process for filming it?

My family and housemates helped with filming. We had a few beers and went down into our scary dirt floor basement and started filming on an iPhone. I did all the editing in Adobe Premiere.

Have you done other videos this way before?

I filmed a video for "south", a single I released at the end of last summer. It was pretty much the same process. I had a vague idea of what I wanted and just went from there.

Do you feel videos are an important part of promoting your music?

Definitely. And they are a lot of fun to make.
