Girl with a Hawk Celebrate New Beginnings on Debut Album Regenesis

Boston rock band Girl with a Hawk will release their debut album Regenesis on June 19, bringing together classic rock, power-pop, and Americana influences in a collection centered on friendship, resilience, and renewal.

Boston rock band Girl with a Hawk are set to release their debut album, Regenesis, on June 19 via Rum Bar Records. Available digitally, on CD, and on vinyl, the album marks an important milestone for a group that has quickly become a familiar presence in the New England music scene.

Led by vocalist and guitarist Linda S. Viens, Girl with a Hawk combine classic rock, power-pop, and Americana influences into a sound that feels rooted in the past while still speaking to modern life. Regenesis brings together several previously released singles alongside four new songs, creating a record that reflects both personal growth and a deep love of making music.

The album's latest single, "Wasn't It Just Yesterday," captures one of the record's central themes. Inspired by the experience of growing older while continuing to perform and create, the song looks at the challenges, rewards, and lasting passion that come with a life spent around music. Throughout the album, Viens explores topics including friendship, loss, redemption, addiction, and the bonds formed through years of performing.

The title Regenesis points toward renewal and fresh starts. For Viens, the idea carries special meaning. After years away from performing while raising a family, she returned to the stage and eventually formed Girl with a Hawk. That experience helped shape the album's message that it is never too late to begin a new chapter or reconnect with the things that matter most.

Alongside Viens, the band features Richard Lamphear on keyboards, Daniel Coughlin on guitar, Daniel George Bernfeld on bass, and Nancy Delaney on drums and percussion. Their chemistry shines across the record, from the folk-rock energy of "The Fighter" and the vintage rock drive of "Full Moon" to the heartfelt ballad "Beautiful Today."

Produced, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Pete Weiss, Regenesis showcases a band confident in its identity and committed to its craft. More than anything, the album stands as a celebration of creativity, friendship, and the enduring joy of playing rock and roll.
