Social Cinema Share New Single “Deadly” and Release Debut Album Don’t Get Lost, Out Now via Midtopia

Rising indie outfit Social Cinema have officially released their long-awaited debut full-length Don’t Get Lost, out now via Midtopia. The record arrives alongside their newest single “Deadly,” a taut, rhythm-driven song that channels the spirit of Blur and Elastica, blending wiry britpop grooves with an artful sense of restraint. Vocalists Griffin Bush and Mari Crisler share an effortless chemistry throughout the track, their understated delivery swelling into an ethereal, cathartic chorus that lingers long after it fades.

“Deadly” is a snapshot of what makes Don’t Get Lost so compelling: precision-crafted pop that’s deceptively simple on the surface but full of nuance and purpose. Across the album’s runtime, Social Cinema explore themes of disorientation, connection, and identity within modern life, capturing both the exhilaration and anxiety of trying to stay grounded in an increasingly overstimulated world. The production is crisp and minimal but dynamic, allowing each melody to bloom naturally without losing the rhythmic punch that drives the band’s sound.

Recorded throughout 2024 at B-24 Studios in Kansas City with producer Jeremy Wurst, Don’t Get Lost represents the culmination of years of experimentation and refinement. The band, hailing from Wichita, KS and Lincoln, NE, spent their early years releasing a steady stream of singles, EPs, and compilations—22 tracks in total—before channeling their collective experience into a cohesive statement. The result is a debut that balances intellect and instinct: a record that understands the science of pop while still pulsing with the immediacy of live performance.

Known for their electrifying stage presence, Social Cinema have become one of the most talked-about emerging acts in the U.S. underground scene, earning recognition on NIVA’s 2025 “Live List” alongside artists like Doechii, Jessica Pratt, and Mannequin Pussy. With Don’t Get Lost, they transcend their reputation as a “live band” to reveal themselves as a fully realized creative force—one capable of crafting pop music that feels alive, urgent, and unmistakably human.
