Scott Evil Releases Dreamy, Emotional Debut Album "Big Dipper"

German band Scott Evil has released their very first full album, Big Dipper, on June 5th through Spanish indie label Spinda Records. Known for their mix of shoegaze, emo, and dream pop, the group brings together fuzzy guitars, soft vocals, and raw feelings in this new project. The album includes eleven tracks, featuring the earlier singles “Circles,” “Pizzazz,” and the focus track “Happening again.”

Formed in 2018, Scott Evil started small, putting out their first songs on their own. With past releases like thisisscottevil, Ocean, and Quaranteens, the band slowly built a name for themselves in the underground music scene in Central Europe. In 2024, they also released a split with the band Moon Junior.

Big Dipper was recorded in Kassel, Germany, at a DIY space called Karnak. Producer Felix Margraf helped shape the album’s hazy and emotional sound, while Bill Henderson of Azimuth Mastering handled the final polish. The music draws influence from bands like American Football, DIIV, and My Bloody Valentine, but keeps its own style with soft noise, dreamy textures, and emotional lyrics.

The band created the album artwork themselves, with members Julia Walerus and Philipp Koronowski doing the design. The record is out now on digital platforms, as well as CD and vinyl. The vinyl version is being released with Norwegian label Backpack Records and is limited to just 300 copies—half in black and half in transparent lavender.

With this release, Scott Evil takes a big step forward. Big Dipper blends soft, dreamy sounds with bursts of loud emotion. It feels homemade but strong. It’s music you can get lost in. Fans of dreamy rock and emotional lyrics won’t want to miss it. You can stream Big Dipper now or order a physical copy through spindarecords.com. Summer tour dates available on the band's Instagram.
